ABBEYS, PRIORIES AND CATHEDRALS OF WALES £7.95

94 pages, 146 illustrations (plans, map, photos)

More than 40 medieval monastic sites in Wales are described in this book, together with the four original medieval cathedrals of Bangor, Llandaff, St Asaph and St Davids. Also included are medieval churches at Brecon and Newport which were raised to cathedral status in the 1920s. Nearly half of the monastic houses still have some portion of their buildings still roofed, mostly for continued use as parish churches. Picturesque ruins of twelve of the monastic houses are ancient monuments in state care which are open to the public.

Available as a separate item (add £2.50 for postage) or as part of a five-volume monastic sites set for £40, including postage.
